Questions we hear before the first call
Why a flat fee instead of an hourly rate?
With an hourly rate you cannot know the total until the case is over. A flat fee puts the number in the agreement, so you can plan and so we have no reason to stretch the work.
What if my case is harder than expected?
The flat fee holds. The things that are billed separately are explained on the fee page, and a jury trial is the main one.
Do you take cases outside Pueblo?
Yes. We meet by video from any county in Colorado and appear in court where the case needs it. Tell us the county on the first call.
How quickly will someone call back?
A lawyer writes back with call times. Saturday mornings are open by appointment, which helps if you cannot take a call during the week.
Will you tell me what is likely to happen?
We will tell you what we see and what the range of outcomes could be. We will not promise a result, and anyone who does is guessing.
What should I not do while the case is open?
Do not discuss the case with anyone but us, do not post about it, and do not contact the person who made the complaint. Follow your release papers to the letter.
What if I cannot afford the flat fee?
Tell us on the first call. We split the fee into monthly parts, and if that still does not fit, we will help you find another lawyer or the public defender’s office.
Ask us the one that’s missing
The first call is free, and nobody there will rush you.
