On drug and theft cases Ottavia asks for every recording before she asks for anything else: the traffic stop, the store camera, the body camera. She watches each one at full length and writes down what is said and what is not.
Clients and family members get a short written summary of what the recordings show, in English or Spanish, before any plea is discussed.
